quote of the year came from chapter 2! chapter 2 people! this is gonna be a good book - i can’t wait for more…

“Maybe it’s time to stop creating God in your image and let Him create you in His.”

i probably should have posted this when i talked about overflow, but i was a bit pre-occupied. $20,000 will do that to a guy. anyway, here is the bumper for overflow - not real flashy but that Bikes or Bust recap took me a while.

merry Christmas!

yeah, i know it’s 12:17am on December 25 and i know i’m supposed to be asleep right now because if i don’t get to sleep, Santa won’t stop by my house to bring presents. but, i wanted to prepare anybody who will be reading blogs on December 25 that my dad’s brother and family are up spending Christmas with us from Florida. it is really cold here for them. they aren’t quite as used to the cold weather like us Georgians are. anyway, in the spirit of Christmas, tonight i helped Santa out a little bit and constructed a doll house for my two cousins. i mean, constructed - like i needed a hard hat. check it out…

yeah, that thing is like 4 feet tall. crazy. and who said it wouldn’t be a white Christmas? it was in the Crosby house…

that would be Ernie devouring a soft toy that the girls wanted to give him for Christmas. there are now white balls of stuffing all around the living room.

anyway, more pictures to come i’m sure. i think everybody is leaving sometime tomorrow except me. i’ll be on my own for a day or two. that’s probably the greatest Christmas present i could ask for.

Merry Christmas everybody!

overflow

so why is december 23 my new favorite day of the year? well, because at this place last night, we were attempting to raise $15,000 in one night from just the members of our launch team to help purchase about $39,000 worth of equipment that we need to buy before we launch on January 27. $15,000 is a HUGE goal for a church that hasn’t even started yet. it would have only happened if everyone on the launch team gave sacrificially. may I remind you, we took this offering 2 days before Christmas. not to brag or anything, but i know i gave sacrificially. i’ll be eating ramen noodles for the next 3 months!

ok, not really, but i definitely won’t be eating out as much - i probably need to tone that down a bit anyway…

as JR announced last night, we did not get $15,000. instead of $15,000, God gave us $20,435.90 - how flippin amazing is God? we wanted $15,000 in one night and He said, “How ’bout I give you $20,000 and change?”

God is up to some crazy things at Freedom Church and i’m so thrilled to be a part of it. it seems crazy to me that there are people and churches that are giving part of their budgets and offerings to help us get started. for people to invest in us before they’ve even seen anything that we’ve done - for people to trust God enough to know that He is going to do some crazy things in Acworth is too difficult for me to wrap my mind around. but so is a God who has power over nature and can tell wind and waves to “be still” and who can take 5 loaves and 2 fish feed 5,000 men and who can raise people to life who were dead and who is still in the business of doing miracles like that. He is way too big for us to fathom. He is way to amazing for us to comprehend. He is so far ahead of us that we can’t catch up to him. i am so stinkin excited about what God is going to do through Freedom Church for the city of Acworth. i can’t wait to see what God has planned for us.

i can’t wait to launch. get ready Acworth - January 27 is just around the corner.

bikes or bust #6…

i honestly don’t know how many of these there will be but there’s at least six…

here’s a video that i put together to show our people how much we have already impacted the city of Acworth through “Bikes or Bust”. there are already 10 entries on the guestbook for “Bikes or Bust” and our people really needed to see it. i feel honored to be able to put something like this together for a church like mine. i hope the people of Acworth will never hear “Freedom Church” enough. i hope we become the first call for help in Acworth. i hope that God continues to bless us as he already has blown our collective mind. we haven’t even launched yet and God is making His name and the name of Freedom Church ring throughout this city. i mean, we flippin made the “A” block on WGCL! the only time you hear of a church making the news before the first commercial break, it’s usually because the pastor has screwed up someway.

thank You God for what You’re already doing with Freedom Church. keep on blowing our minds.
