for all you mac users : don’t you hate when you click on the wrong icon in the dock? i do.

anyway, on to the Friday Four…

1. today is payday. i love when payday comes on a friday. actually, i’ll take payday any day, but i especially love friday paydays.

2. i leave for IMPACT on Sunday and i’m pumped. still don’t know what our theme is. makes for an interesting time packing.

3. my boss just came back from a 16-day trip from Israel. i think today will be filled with stories and pictures.

4. didn’t get much sleep last night. maybe tonight/tomorrow morning will be better. lots to do tomorrow before i leave Sunday. got to wash clothes, mow the grass, pack my clothes, clean my room, gas up the truck… man, i’m tired just thinking about all of that…

man, i am getting really lax on this blogging thing. i apologize to all of you who sit and wait and stare into your RSS reader for my blog to hit. i know you do it. don’t tell me you don’t.

has this ever happened to you? you sit down in front of your computer and you start to write out a blog post, but nothing happens? you feel the need to write about something - not because you have to, but you just need to - but nothing comes? i hate that.

what do you do in that situation?

yeah, i know all the other Freedom bloggers have done this but i have got to say that Sunday at FreedomChurch was straight up amazing! everyone who has been a part of FreedomChurch saw exactly why we do what we do! this past Sunday we were able to baptize 17 people. as Todd pointed out, that is one person for every week we’ve been in existence! JR said on Sunday that we would baptize more people in one day than most (70-80%) churches would baptize this year!

it was a great day for everybody involved. there were a BUNCH of transitions that needed to happen and happen in the correct order. our volunteers pulled everything off exactly the way it needed to happen. our volunteers are incredible. AND, we actually had a new volunteer on the production team that started THIS WEEK. all the other weeks at Freedom will be a breeze compared to this past Sunday for him!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all our volunteers - not just on the production team. our guest services and FreedomKidz volunteers were much appreciated and without every single one of our volunteers, this past Sunday would not have been possible.

big things are in store Freedom! get ready…

Joshua 7:13 (MSG) “So get started. Purify the people. Tell them: Get ready for tomorrow by purifying yourselves.”

1. today is a half-day at work. we’re having a “firm picnic” catered by this little slice of heaven at noon. then we get to go home at 2:00.

2. Braves swept all four games against the Mets for the first 4-game sweep of the Mets since July 2003, and have won 19 of their last 22 home games. I’m predicting a win tonight as Callie and i will be viewing the game (and Friday Night Fireworks) against the Diamondbacks from section 402 at Turner Field.

3. leaving after church on Sunday to head over to Augusta where my dad will be camping on Clarks Hill Lake. we shall spend the day monday on the boat. i’m extremely excited.

4. Freedom’s first baptism service is this Sunday! we’ve got some crazy stuff planned for Sunday and i can’t wait. if you’re planning on being out of town - change your plans. you will want to be at Freedom on Sunday. trust me.

5. (i’m giving an extra because i’m in a REALLY good mood) Miami Hurricanes baseball is tearing it up. after dropping the final series against UNC, they have won consecutive games against Clemson and Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament. another national championship for Miami baseball would look pretty nice in the trophy case…

this is crazy.

God, only you know the outcome of this situation and you know what is going on. Take this family, wrap them in your arms and keep them on our hearts. Be everything they need in this and all situations. God be everything.
